Ashley Winkel

Director of Trinity Preschool

Ashley Winkel is the Children and Family Ministry Pastor at Trinity Baptist Church and the Director of Trinity Preschool. Ashley has years of experience with early childhood education in daycares, preschools, day homes and children’s art studios. She loves connecting with little learners and engaging kids in meaningful learning and play.

Ashley's favorite childhood book is "The Velveteen Rabbit" and her favorite toys when she was a kid were Lego, paper dolls and her teddy bear, Timmy.

Michelle Drews

Preschool Manager / Primary Lead Teacher

Michelle is a Level 3 ECE who has been passionate about teaching children for more than 30 years. She has served in several teaching roles from being a Nanny, to operating her own preschool, to day home provider, Preschool Director/Worker, and a Mother’s Helper to Foster Families. She loves to engage with children and have fun doing all kinds of activities with them. Outside of childcare, she loves to spend time watching her kids at the rink and enjoys summers with her husband, three children, and dog at the lake.

Chelsea Kalvin

Primary Lead Teacher

Chelsea has a Level 3 ECE and has been working with children for most of her life.  She has taught preschool for several years, including to deaf and hard of hearing children. She also briefly taught at a kindergarten in China and has worked locally as a children's pastor.

Chelsea is very passionate about social justice and is actively involved with an organization in Colombia and Dominican Republic which helps women and children learn entrepreneur skills. Her favorite thing to play as a child was setting up her bedroom as a classroom. 

Lacy Short

Preschool Teacher

Lacy is currently in school for her level 2 Early Childhood Certification. She has 2 children of her own and has worked as an Early Childhood Educator at other preschools and daycares. Lacy has been serving in children's ministry at her local church for several years and has a passion for building children up for the Lord's Kingdom. She loves having children engage in messy play and believes children learn best through play. When she is not at work you can find her at the gym, hiking in the mountains, spending time with her family or reading a book in her hammock.

Niki Crossland

Substitute Teacher

Our Team is also supported by Niki Crossland, who has been with our program since 2022 and is a Preschool Alumni parent herself. Niki helps out in our classroom with a flexible schedule, and she brings a great sense of fun, and love of learning through play to our classroom.
