The Canadian Baptists of Western Canada, which Trinity Baptist is associated with, is currently engaged in a discernment process regarding motions that will be voted upon at the CBWC Assembly in May 2022. Each local church has been encouraged to conduct its own discernment process in preparation for the Assembly. Full details and background information of the Assembly motions can be found at https://cbwc.ca/assembly-2022/. Be sure to open the dropdown menus under the headings Dialogue, Discover, and Discern. A short introduction and final draft of the three specific motions is available in this package. At its October meeting, TBC Council approved the following motion:

Motion that Council accept the three motions as given by CBWC and recommend them to the TBC membership –motion passed

In addition, Trinity’s Council has drafted, approved, and is recommending two additional motions that, if approved by TBC membership, would be submitted to the CBWC for consideration. These two additional motions are included later in this document, labeled as Motions A & B.

Each Trinity member is encouraged to be part of this discernment process. The following is the anticipated engagement process we will walk together over the coming months. Notice that we move through 3 phases of information, interaction, and decision.

Join us, via Zoom, on Wednesday, January 12th at 7:00 p.m. for the next step of the interaction process.  The focus of the evening is to discuss support, or concerns, with the CBWC Assembly motions.

Please contact Trinity Baptist Church administration directly to receive an information package or to be sent the Zoom meeting information.
